Demetrius Andrade Skips Out On Zach Parker Fight

Demetrius Andrade has reportedly backed out.

According to a report by Jake Donovan, Andrade will not go through with his interim super middleweight title fight against Zach Parker – a fight that he had vacated his WBO middleweight title to chase after.

The interim fight had gone to purse bid, which Queensbury Promotions won with $305,000. The deadline to commit to the bout was on Wednesday, which Andrade reportedly passed up on.

The news marks yet another failed attempt at a fight with Parker.

It was originally supposed to happen on May 21 in Derby, England – Parker’s hometown – but Andrad was forced to withdraw due to an injury.

Andrade was later ordered to face interim WBO middleweight champion Janibek Alimkahanuly, but he surrendered that title and skipped that fight by moving up a division to face Parker.

Andrade (31-0, 19 KOs) has yet to experience defeat in his pro career.

In November of 2021 – his last bout – he defeated Jason Quigley by second-round technical knockout. A few months before that, in April, Andrade fought Liam Williams to a unanimous decision win.

Critics have argued that Parker and Alimkahanuly would’ve been Andrade’s toughest tests yet. The 34-year-old is only ranked by the WBO and sits at the No. 1 spot.
