At the age of 91, Don King is still trying to hold on to his boxing fervor as one of his top fighters, Jonathan Guidry was in action last week.
King is regarded as one of the most influential figures in professional boxing history, with him having managed the likes of the great Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Mike Tyson and Larry Holmes.
But the veteran promoter is still not done yet as one of his emerging heavyweights, ‘The King’ Guidry put on a show against former WBC emperor, Bermane Stiverne shutting him down in Casino Miami Jai Alai on January 21.

The result was pretty much expected as Stiverne’s last win came way back in 2015. The 33-year-old Guidry now vying for a rematch against Trevor Bryan in the coming months or so.
Bryan marginally outpointed Guidry in their last outing to win the fight by a split decision in January 2022.
For King, Guidry could be the last throw in the dice as he has the prowess to become the final champion in the inventory of the fighters who were crowned under his supervision.
But this glimmer of hope was only possible after the WBA helped Don and his fighter get a former champ and now with this victory, Guidry has trajected his focus on his former foe, Bryan before pushing for a title.
