Douglas Lima Signs Multi Year Agreement With PFL, Plans In Place For 2024 Bout

Just days following the controversial release of Gegard Mousasi, the PFL has announced that they have signed a new deal with Douglas Lima, a different former Bellator champion.

Much like Mousasi, Lima was frustrated with the lack of fight offers coming his way following the PFL’s takeover of Bellator, and he was also outspoken regarding the situation on social media. But, these situations resulted very differently. While Mousasi was released from the organization after threatening legal action, Lima was signed to a new deal, with plans for a bout this year.

The PFL took to social media earlier this week to announce the recent roster update, which seems to becoming a quite regular occurrence these past few months.

While many fans view the loss of Mousasi as a serious blunder on the part of the promotion, meeting an agreement with Lima serves them quite well, and is being viewed as an excellent bounce back business move.

Lima is a two-time Bellator welterweight champion and through his time with the organization he has accumulated 15 wins. Unfortunately, he found himself on a 4 fight skid between 2020 and 2022, but most recently secured a unanimous decision over Costello van Steenis in 2023, moving his overall MMA record to 33-11.
