Gervonta Davis’ assistant trainer Kenny Ellis has called for his fighter to face Shakur Stevenson.
Davis has become the ‘face of boxing’ following his win over Ryan Garcia in spectacular fashion, as he scored a seventh-round-TKO win.
The victory has given Davis more options, given that he is the ‘cash cow’ in the division.
While Devin Haney has eyed up a bout with Gervonta Davis following his unanimous-decision win over Vasiliy Lomachenko, Davis’ team has called for Stevenson.

“Heads Devin, Tails Shakur. It’s tails. Shakur, call your team and tell them you want Tank.
“Whoever is not willing to make it happen, get rid of they ass. You the boss. The fighter is the boss. If Bob Arum don’t want it, tell him let you out the f——contract,” Ellis
Nevertheless, there are some obstacles to overcome before that fight happens.
Davis is currently under a 90-day house arrest, has to do three years probation and 200 hours of community service for a charge relating to a hit-and-run incident.
Meanwhile, Stevenson seems focused on taking on Devin Haney next. And on top of that, the different promotional companies involved will have to come together.
With that being said, a fight is some way off for now.
