Gervonta Davis Vs. Isaac Cruz 2 Reportedly Being Considered

Gervonta Davis and Isaac Cruz could face each other once again.

According to ESPN’s Mark Kriegel, talks are currently being held in order to determine whether or not a fight can be made for Davis’ first fight since his prison release.

The duo squared off initially in 2021 when Davis managed to beat Cruz in a unanimous-decision victory. However, the win was clouded by suggestions that Davis hurt his hand during the fight. As such, question marks remained over how good of a performance Cruz had actually put up. With that being said, a rematch could answer those questions.

“Isaac Cruz, he apparently has a date with Tank Davis,” ESPN’s Mark Kriegel

Nevertheless, it is important to bear these things in mind. Davis has been accused of not facing the best fighters in his division and a victory over someone he has already fought is not going to do him any favors. In addition, given that Calvin Ford has previously doubled down on the comments about a fight with Cruz, it appears that Tank’s focus is on picking the right fights for his career regardless of what others may have to sayAfter all, Shakur Stevenson has been ruled out.

“If you look at the numbers they’re putting out, it doesn’t make sense. Once they understand the business, you can’t go in there asking for a whole bunch of money. Shakur got offered some money from Devin Haney. Do you see the way he turned it down? Tank isn’t taking a pay cut. I wouldn’t say it’s his biggest fight [Shakur]. His biggest fight is every fight. Y’all see that. It’s just another fight we got to look at,” Ford
