Hearn Still Targets Haney Vs. Garcia – ‘Let’s Get A Deal Made’

Eddie Hearn still wants to make Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney.

The fight was first entertained when Garcia called out Haney following his victory over Regis Prograis. Both fighters entered into negotiations, expecting the fight to be announced since they bought fight on DAZN. Talks broke down after Garcia pulled out shortly after spending time with Floyd Mayweather, turning his attention to Rolando Romero. Oscar De La Hoya claimed Rolly priced himself out as Romero vs Isaac Cruz was announced on the Keith Thurman vs Tim Tszyu card. Garcia has now been left to find an opponent, but Hearn was still keen on making the Haney fight.

“I think that’s a really natural fight to make, and I hope everybody can get sensible and I hope we can get it made. April 20th is the potential date for PPV. That’s the one that makes sense. If I’m advising Devin, I’m saying, ‘Let’s get a deal made.’ Ryan will be difficult because it’s all difficult. Everyone is difficult, but if he really wants the fight, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t get it made,” Hearn said

But De La Hoya has targeted the winner of Romero vs. Cruz for Garcia, meaning the fight could end up being bigger if Rolly secures a spectacular win. But in the meantime, Garcia may not have as much leverage if he tries to reenter talks with Devin Haney.
