Holland vs. Oleksiejczuk Added To The Makhachev vs. Poirier Card

Kevin Holland will fight Michal Oleksiejczuk in a middleweight clash at UFC 302 on the Islam Makhachev vs. Dustin Poirier card.

Holland had been campaigning at 185 pounds for most of his career. However, he decided to move down to welterweight in 2022. Since then, he has had eight fights with a 4-4 record. His last bout was a unanimous decision win over  Michael Page at UFC 299. Moving up to middleweight again is a risk.

Oleksiejczuk may be coming off a loss to Michel Pereira at UFC 299. However, he is a credible name. He stopped Chidi Njokuani in the fight before. The headline event also has plenty to offer. Makhachev stopped Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 294 in his last fight.

The Australian stepped in on less than two weeks’ notice after Charles Oliveira withdrew due to cuts above his eye, which required stitching, after an injury in sparring. That was Islam’s second win over the Australian. Poirier returned from his loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 291 last year, missing out on the chance to become the BMF Champion, stopping Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 299. Holland and Oleksiejczuk know they must deliver on the biggest stage.
