Ian Machado Garry Adamant That He Would ‘Rag Doll’ Colby Covington

Over the course of the last several months, undefeated UFC welterweight Ian Machado Garry has been spending most of his public facing time calling out Colby Covington, and that trend continued this past weekend.

During an interview backstage at UFC 301, Garry voiced a very confident opinion on how things would go if the fight with Covington ever came to fruition.

Garry additionally went on to express that he does not feel that Covington would ever sign on to fight him. But with all the back and forth, things are getting more and more interesting.

“If Colby signs that contract [to fight me], I’m gonna walk out with my knee up going, ‘Take the f****** thing. Take the f****** thing and let’s see what happens.’ I will rag doll him. I promise you now. There’s no doubt in my mind I will rag doll him. The truth is, I genuinely don’t see any world where Colby signs the contract. I genuinely don’t, but if he’s man enough to, and if he has the balls to do it, then Colby, show up.”

“Show the people why you’re so good,” Garry said. “I don’t think you’re any f****** good, and I think I’ll slap the mouth off you within five minutes.”

Garry is most recently coming off a split decision win over Geoff Neal in February, adding a seventh win in as many UFC appearances. Meanwhile, Covington came up short in yet another title shot versus Leon Edwards in December, and aside from the trash talk with Garry, he has remained fairly quiet.
