Jake Paul And Mike Tyson Lock Horns At Kick-Off Presser

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson sized each other up in their kick-off presser ahead of their July 20 clash.

The presser took place at The Apollo in Harlem, New York. The professionally sanctioned fight is an eight-rounder, with each round lasting two minutes. They will use 14-ounce gloves, raising worries over the safety of both men. Tyson will be 58 against Paul, who is 28. Tyson has not boxed professionally since 2005, losing to Kevin McBride. He did have an exhibition in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr.

Paul has been more active, beating Andre August and Ryan Bourland in his last two fights since last December. He has bulked up to over 200 pounds for this fight, as the extra weight could impact the fight. Tyson has responded by banning weed and sex, training three times a day, eating raw meat and using hypnosis.

In the co-main event, Katie Taylor rematches Amanda Serrano. Taylor won their 2022 clash via a split decision. The rematch was meant to happen last year. However, Serrano pulled out with an injury. Since then, Taylor beat Chantelle Cameron to become the 140-pound undisputed champion. Serrano has not lost since losing to Taylor, beating Danila Ramos in her previous bout. Serrano was scheduled to face Nina Meinke in March but pulled out with an eye injury. Here are the highlights from the presser.
