Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Postponed

Mike Tyson has pulled out of his July 20 fight with Jake Paul following the flare up of an ulcer.

The news follows after Tyson suffered turbulence on a May 26 flight from Miami to Los Angeles. The flight was delayed for approximately two hours, as a witness recalled Tyson receiving medical treatment. Tyson’s team revealed that he was suffering from an ulcer, which may have caused him to become nauseous and dizzy. Tyson initially reassured fans he was in good condition.

However, that has now changed. Tyson has been advised to undertake “minimal light training over the next weeks.” The new date for the fight will be confirmed on July 7. The Texas Department of License and Regulation will monitor’s Tyson’s health before he enters the ring.

“TDLR is aware of media reports regarding an episode involving Mr. Tyson. At present, Mr. Tyson and Mr. Paul have met the medical requirements for this event. Before the event, TDLR will conduct pre-fight physicals to ensure the health of both fighters,” Tela Mange (Communications Manager)

“Obviously, devastating news. I’m heartbroken. I’m speechless, gutted. We’ve been working so hard over here, everyone in this camp. I just feel bad for everyone involved in this event, the whole undercard. This was an opportunity ripped from all of us. I do value Mike’s health first and foremost. I love that guy and have so much respect for him. I want Mike to be healthy.

“He says he still is going to knock me out, and I bought myself some time, so Mike is still talking sh*t. Mike, if you still want to do this like you said behind close doors behind the scenes, thank you. You just need a little bit of time, so I’m ready whenever you are. This is too big of an opportunity. I think this fight is going to change the world,” Jake Paul said

“My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s, and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year,” Tyson stated
