Josh Taylor Refuses To Have All-American Judges For His Fight With Teofimo Lopez

Josh Taylor has spoken out against the officiating before his fight against Teofimo Lopez.

The pair are set to square off on June 10th, 2023, as Taylor will defend his WBO title. While that may be the case, Taylor has demanded that an all-American judging panel should not be the case.

This was in response to Taylor’s dissatisfaction with the judging during his last fight in America.

He had faced Jose Ramirez in a fight that was scored evenly until Taylor’s two knockdowns gave him a unanimous decision win.

And given the recent controversy surrounding Devin Haney’s victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko, Taylor made his position very clear.

“Obviously, I’ve requested to have three different judges, that there not be all American judges. So, hopefully they accept what we’ve requested and hopefully that’s the case.

“But I don’t let things like that bother me anyway. I believe in myself and I’m confident in my ability, that it’s gonna be that much of a dominant display, that the judges can’t deny me,” Taylor said.
