A lot of things are happening in Thailand with regards to their national sport Muay Thai.

Recently the oldest stadium Rajadamnern introduced ‘Rajadamnern World Series‘, and today Lumpinee announced that it will now be possible to promote Mixed Martial Arts at their stadium adding CEO of ONE Championship Chatri Sityodtong as the latest addition to a long list of promoters.

The move is done in an effort to improve the awareness of Muay Thai globally.

Chatri released a statement on his Facebook page saying:

Last week, I formally accepted an invitation from the Royal Thai Armed Forces to become a promoter at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium. Lumpinee Stadium has long been the highest pinnacle of Muay Thai, representing the best of the best champions ever since the beginning.
As a proud Thai citizen, I am full of gratitude and appreciation for the chance to serve my country and elevate the beautiful art of Muay Thai. As CEO of ONE, I hope to work with all athletes, gym owners, and promoters of the Muay Thai industry in Thailand and around the world for a prosperous future together.

Before the partnership was realized, ONE Championships had already chosen Lumpinee to be the venue of the Fairtex Fight: Road to ONE event series which is a feeder show enabling fighters to earn a contract to fight on the big ONE Championship shows.

On September 12th 2022 Lumpinee Boxing Stadium will host an official press meeting announcing the partnership with ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
