Michael Chandler Says The Conor McGregor Fight Is ‘Official’ For The Summer

Michael Chandler has said there is an official agreement to face Conor McGregor

The fighters have been linked with a fight since their rivalry on the TUF 31 series. On New Year’s Day, McGregor announced that he was fighting Chandler on June 29. Dana White dismissed that date, saying the UFC would announce his return.

White said McGregor’s activities outside the Octagon had delayed his return. He cited his acting debut in ‘Road House’ as an example. But McGregor recently confirmed it was ‘all systems go’ for a summer return. Now, Chandler has backed up those comments.

“I’ve got the official announcement. It’s happening this summer. I can’t tell you the actual date, but it’s happening this summer, yes. Me vs. Conor. Obviously, this has been a year in the making. We did The Ultimate Fighter, he’s been off obviously doing the Road House movie and all his other aspirations and accolades outside of the cage, so here we are, this summer, I’m ready,” Chandler said

With two fights left on his UFC deal, McGregor must return to the Octagon as soon as possible since he is in the latter part of his career. He has not fought since his 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Meanwhile, Chandler has not been in a fight since his defeat to Poirier in 2022. But with Dana White yet to make an announcement, MMA fans will have to wait a little longer.
