Michael Chandler Teases A Fight With BMF Champ Max Holloway

Michael Chandler has hinted at a fight with BMF Champion Max Holloway after the Conor McGregor fight fell through.

McGregor pulled out of his UFC 303 fight, leaving Chandler with a decision. He can wait for the McGregor fight, which he has been doing since the TUF 31 series. That will extend Chandler’s inactivity as he has not fought since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 281 in 2022. He will earn a big purse based on the current projections. The fight set a UFC record for a gate exceeding $20 million.

The other option is to fight Holloway. Max increased his stock by knocking out Justin Gaethje with a second left in the fight at UFC 300. A win over Holloway makes the McGregor fight event bigger, as a belt would be on the line. But a defeat against Holloway prevents a possible fight with McGregor. Nevertheless, Chandler has stated his willingness to take the fight.

“I am one of the baddest dudes on the planet. I embody the BMF moniker. Obviously, I am focused on Conor (on) June 29 – I would love to smash Conor. I would love to fight Islam or Poirier or (Arman) Tsarukyan. I guess not Gaethje. Maybe not now. But whoever’s got the belt at lightweight, or I would love to fight Holloway or whoever has the BMF belt,” Chandler said
