Tony Ferguson ended his long career with the UFC in 2024, but since then he has not seemed like he has any plans to slow down his combat sports career, now announcing his boxing match scheduled for August 30th.
Not long after stepping away from the UFC, Ferguson was already scheduled to fight against former Bellator competitor Dillon Danis with GFL, a premiering team based MMA promotion. Despite an astounding roster of former MMA stars, GFL completely fell apart shortly after their inaugural draft, and at this point there has been no news of that bout being rescheduled.
Now, with the UFC legend stepping into the boxing ring, it is obvious he has moved on from the GFL blunder, and has interest in keeping active in competition.
“I’m not retired, I’m fighting in August”: Tony Ferguson says he’s not looking to hang up his gloves at all and will put on boxing ones on August 30.
The 41-year-old veteran also said he’s still considering MMA offers as well as other sports.

“I’m going into camp,” he said (via MMA Mania). “Right now I’ve got a fight on August 30th, it will be boxing. I can’t tell you who yet but it will be boxing and I’m slowly making my way there. But one win changes everything.”
