Naoya Inoue Injured – Fight Against Stephen Fulton Postponed

Naoya Inoue, who has an impressive record of 24 wins and 21 knockouts, has sustained an injury during his training camp.

As a result of this, his upcoming match against Stephen Fulton, the undefeated champion in the super bantamweight category with the WBC and WBO titles, scheduled to take place on May 7th, 2023, has been delayed.

According to a report by ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, the exact nature and severity of the injury has not been disclosed, and it is unclear how long it will take for the former three-division world champion to recover.

Last December in Tokyo, Japan, Inoue achieved an outstanding victory in the 11th round by knocking out Paul Butler, who was the WBO bantamweight champion at the time.

This impressive win led to Inoue becoming the undisputed 118-pound champion. Naoya has now set his sights on becoming the undefeated champion in the 122 lbs category by defeating current champions Fulton and Murodjon Akhmadaliev.

But for now fans will have to wait a little longer.
