ONE Championship has signed a multi-fight agreement with Takeru Segawa, the former K-1 champion.
That is according to the company’s CEO, Chatri Sityodtong. Segawa is a major coup, given the following he has built up.
He achieved a remarkable feat by winning titles in three weight classes in K-1, which no other fighter has accomplished before.
Not only that, Segawa propelled himself on the world stage when he faced off against Tenshin Nasukawa.

Despite losing to Nasukawa, Segawa’s reputation remained intact. He lost a decision, and prior to that, he was on an unbeaten streak of 30 fights.
And once he became a free agent following the expiry of his contract with K-1, Segawa was a man in demand.
With that being said, this is what Sityodtong had to say: “BREAKING NEWS: Japanese K1 Superstar Takeru Segawa has officially signed an exclusive multiple-fight deal with ONE.
“Without a doubt, ONE is home to the best of the best world champion fighters on the planet! Stay tuned for big news.”
There will be no shortage of matchups, given the long list of fighters ready to face Segawa.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Di Bella are just some of those who have called out Segawa, paving the way for some mega fights.
