Pacquiao In Talks To Fight Conor Benn In Saudi Arabia

Eddie Hearn has said talks have begun for a fight between Manny Pacquiao and Conor Benn for a bout in Saudi Arabia.

Pacquiao’s last professional fight was a loss to Yordenis Ugas in 2021. Since then, he has had an exhibition with DK Yoo, beating him via a unanimous decision. Pacman also has an exhibition lined up against Buakaw Banchamek in April. The eight-division champion is looking to enter the ring now that he will not participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Meanwhile, a Floyd Mayweather rematch has yet to be announced despite Pacquiao confirming it.

As for Benn, the boxer is not allowed to fight in the UK until he is cleared by the BBBofC, who appealed the removal of his suspension by the National Anti-Doping Agency, following his failed VADA tests. Benn has chosen to box overseas, choosing the US for his last two fights. But his unanimous decision wins against Rodolfo Orozco and Peter Dobson failed to excite the crowd. Talks over a Gervonta Davis fight also broke down, but a fight with Pacquiao would be Benn’s first big name.

“We’re talking. This is a fight I love between one of the legends of the sport against one of the biggest young lions at 147 lbs. If we can make this fight, we’d be very happy out here in Saudi Arabia or at Wembley Stadium. We’ll see, but we’re talking. I love the match-up. Idols become rivals. This is a great fight and we’ll see what happens,” Hearn

“Yes, we can give a good fight and entertain the fans. It’s been a while since I fought a young fighter like him, so I’m excited about that. I hope that we can get it done before we go back home,” Pacquiao
