Ramirez Claims WBO Featherweight Title With Victory Over Dogboe

With Saturday night’s victory over Isaac Dogboe (24-3, 15 KO), Cuban two-time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramirez (12-1, 7 KO) has extended his undefeated streak to twelve, and claimed the vacant WBO featherweight title in the process.

Dogboe, the former WBO super bantamweight champion, was also on a recent hot streak, winning his last four and having his sights set on claiming the world title in a second weight category.

This event, brought to the fans by Top Rank Boxing, took place live from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was broadcast for the masses on ESPN+.

Despite competitive back and forth action throughout the 12-round affair, this was Ramirez’s night. Dogboe showed early success in the match, but was unable to affect the chin of his opponent. Past the early success of Dogboe, Ramirez went to work from his southpaw stance, displaying his speed and technique based game that was clearly on a different level than Dogboe’s on this particular evening.

Official Result: Robeisy Ramirez def. Isaac Dogboe via Decision (Unanimous) – 117-110, 118-109, 119-108
