Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey (12-2) is officially back in training for her upcoming bout against Gina Carano (7-1) on May 16.
The 39-year-old will have her first MMA fight, live on Netflix outside of the UFC, since getting stopped by Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in 2016. Meanwhile, the 43-year-old Carano is coming off a 17-year lay-off. Her last bout was a stoppage loss to Cris Cyborg in 2009 in Strikeforce. Before that loss, she had racked up a 7-0 record. The footage shows Rousey working high-density striking combinations, a clear signal that she is addressing the technical gaps that ended her initial UFC run, which saw her getting stopped by Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. The Hall of Famer showcased blistering pad work.
