Sage Northcutt will enter the ring for a battle.
A welterweight matchup between Northcutt (11-3) and Ahmed Mujtaba (10-2) has been scheduled for ONE Championship Fight Night 10 in May. Following an early report from Sports Illustrated, promotion authorities revealed the matchup on Monday.
The promotion will make its American debut at ONE Fight Night 10. The card takes place May 5 at 1STBANK Center in Colorado and streams on Amazon Prime Video.
In the main event, bantamweight champion Demetrious Johnson puts his title on the line in a trilogy rematch with Adriano Moraes.
Houston native Northcutt made a big impression when he first joined Legacy FC and was noticed on the pilot episode of “Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight.” He was 5-0 when he joined the UFC and won his first two matches through TKO and submission.

After that, he lost his next two fights by submission to Bryan Barberena and Mickey Gall. But between 2017 and 2018, he engaged in three fights in a row. Even though he had a winning run and was 6-2 in the UFC, the organization decided to release him when his contract expired.
Then came ONE Championship.
In May 2019, he moved up a weight class to compete in ONE, weighing 185 pounds. However, Northcutt’s time in Singapore came to an abrupt end.
In just 29 seconds, Cosmo Alexandre finished him down with one blow. Northcutt had hoped to make a comeback in April 2021 against former champion Shinya Aoki, but his COVID-19 side effects prevented that from happening, and he hasn’t competed since.
Since beginning to compete for ONE in 2016, Mujtaba has gone 4-2 with the organization, including two consecutive first-round victories. Raahul Raju was defeated by him in just 56 seconds about two years ago.
Then, this past November, he submitted Abraao Amorim following a protracted hiatus.
