WBC super welterweight world champion, Sebastian Fundora (24-1-1, 16 KOs), returns to the ring on October 17 to defend his title at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
The 28-year-old won the vacant WBC championship when he beat Tim Tszyu by split decision in 2024, and has since defeated Chordale Booker, Tszyu in a rematch, and Keith Thurman — all by stoppage.
Fundora will fight his mandatory challenger, 32-year-old Ermal Hadribeaj (23-0-1, 8 KOs and 1 No Contest). Hadribeaj is an unbeaten fighter who brings with a recent unanimous decision win over Bakary Samake, from May 23. It marks the fourth defense of Fundora’s reign.
While Fundora said he’s already started camp and expects to take over Vegas once again, Hadribeaj warned the champion not to take him lightly.
“I’m going to be prepared for the fight Fundora is gonna bring,” Hadribeaj said. “If he takes me lightly, he’s gonna be in for a big surprise.”
While Fundora and Hadribeaj headline the Premier Boxing Champions ‘Saturday Fight Night’ event, there are two other confirmed bouts for the card, too. WBA featherweight world champion, Brandon Figueroa, will fight Tomoki Kameda in the co-main event. And two-division champion, Jermall Charlo, faces Koen Mazoudier.
