WBO super lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) is reportedly in talks for a unification next fight against WBA title holder Gary Antuanne Russell (19-1, 17 KOs)
Shakur established himself as a four-division champion following his unanimous decision win over Teofimo Lopez in January, having also beaten William Zepeda at lightweight in 2025.
Since the Lopez win, Stevenson signed with Zuffa Boxing and is now expected to make his debut with the promotion against Russell, a heavy puncher who would enter the ring off back-to-back decision wins over Jose Valenzuela, which had the WBA title at 140 pounds on the line, and Andy Hiraoka, in a defense of his newly-won WBA belt.
Shakur recently shared a video of himself training with Floyd Mayweather Jr. at his gym, further causing speculation that Stevenson’s next fight will be officially announced soon.
