UFC 293 Is Coming To Sydney, Australia – Says Dana White

Dana White revealed that UFC 293, the first of three action-packed pay-per-view events, will be held in Sydney, Australia, on September 10th, 2023.

The development marks the start of a promising partnership between the UFC and the state of New South Wales, aimed at enhancing the promotion’s presence in the region.

With an estimated collaboration value of $16 million, this highly anticipated event is set to captivate American fight enthusiasts.

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “We continue securing a calendar of exclusive, diverse and unmissable events to boost our visitor economy, support local businesses and create more jobs, and that’s exactly what these UFC events will do.”

While the precise location of the event remains undisclosed, it’s worth noting that the UFC has previously organized memorable occasions at Qudos Bank Arena (formerly known as AllPhones Arena).

In fact, their most recent journey to Sydney took place back in 2017, featuring an epic showdown between Fabricio Werdum and Marcin Tybura.

As for the main event of UFC 293, details are yet to be announced. However, Dana White hinted that the winner of the thrilling matchup between former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker and the formidable Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290 is being “targeted” to battle against the reigning champion, Israel Adesanya.

With that being said, fight enthusiasts can expect an electrifying night of high-stakes action.
