Vergil Ortiz Jr. is expected to return in November as he considers opponents at junior middleweight and middleweight.
The undefeated 28-year-old has not fought since stopping Erickson Lubin in the second round on November 8, 2025. A potential fight with Jaron Ennis was later disrupted by Ortiz’s legal dispute with Golden Boy, which ended in a settlement on July 17.
“Vergil Ortiz Jr. will fight in November, 100 percent,” manager Rick Mirigian said. “There are names at 154 and 160 pounds, and titles being considered.”
Mirigian added that an announcement is expected within the next two weeks.
Ortiz (24-0, 22 KOs) holds the WBC interim junior middleweight title, but with limited opportunities currently available at 154 pounds, he is willing to move up to middleweight for the right fight.
