WWE Icon Will Judge For PFL Challenger Series

He announced the news with his iconic catchphrase.

Kurt Angle is heading to the PFL.

But he’s not fighting. Instead, he will be judging at the 2023 PFL Challenger Series on February 10. The former WWE champion and legend announced the news on social media.

“I’ll be a judge on the PFL Challenger Series, helping decide who earns a PFL contract and a chance to win that $1 million bag,” Angle revealed. “This is the only show out there where you can vote along with me during the show, and have your voice heard too… Oh it’s true, it’s damn true.”

The PFL Challenger Series is for young and upcoming MMA prospects to get a shot at making it into the PFL tournament season.

The first week of this season saw three of the four bouts go to the judges.

In the main event, Itso Babulaidze outpointed Lucas Barbosa by unanimous decision.

Now Angle, an Olympic gold medalist, will be one of the judges if a bout goes to the scorecards. He is regarded as one of the greatest freestyle wrestlers of all time. He earned an Olympic gold in 1996 despite competing with a fractured neck.

He later became a sensation in the WWE. When he left WWE, he joined TNA and did consider competing in MMA, according to MMA News, but it never happened. MMA and WWE stars typically cross over with one another.
