Anderson on Jones: ‘I Get To Be The One To Dethrone Him’

Last weekend at UFC 247, Jon Jones defeated Dominick Reyes to retain his UFC Light heavyweight Title. Many are calling it controversial due to the outcome, but not Corey Anderson. Ranked fifth overall on the UFC’s light heavyweight rankings, Anderson stated that either fighter could have won the bout.

“I think it could have went either way,” Anderson stated to TMZ Sports. “It was five rounds. Dom was landing more combos but Jon was popping him with one pops… Dominick threw more punches and landed more, but, percentage-wise, I think Jon landed more. You could flip the coin on that one, it could have went either way.”

Anderson (13-4) believes that if Reyes won a rematch would be automatic. With a Jones win, he believes it is his time to shine. Seeing how Jones fought, it is not hard for Anderson to think he has a chance at defeating the champion.
