Anderson Silva Said If It Wasn’t For This Fight, He Might Not Have Gone To The UFC
Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson “Spider” Silva talked about his most important career win.
In his latest interview, he revealed that his most valuable victory was against Hayato Sakurai at Shooto 7.
By that time, Sakurai was an undefeated champion with 20 fights on his resume. Silva stepped against him inside the octagon and earned a unanimous decision win.
“I think this is the most important fight in my career, because without it I wouldn’t have the opportunity to have fought in Pride, to have fought in England and gone to the UFC. So I consider it more important,” Silva said.
Silva fought with everyone in his division. His UFC resume includes Vitor Belfort, Nick Diaz, Michael Bisping, Daniel Cormier and Israel Adesanya, to name a few.
Currently, Silva is competing under boxing rules, where he is 3-1 in the light heavyweight division. His latest win comes from a devastating knockout win over Tito Ortiz.
For a very long time, Silva was defending the belt with spectacular KO and submission victories.
