Anderson Silva Signs For UFC 237
For the first time in seven years, Anderson Silva will fight in his home country of Brazil at UFC 237.
Initially reported by ESPN, Silva is staying active in 2019, as he faces top-10 ranked Jared Cannonier on May 11th, marking the first fight for Silva in Brazil since defeating Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 in 2012.
Breaking: Anderson Silva (34-9) will face Jared Cannonier (11-4) at UFC 237 on May 11 in Brazil, per UFC president Dana White. Silva just dropped a decision to Israel Adesanya in the main event of UFC 234 earlier this month, and said he wanted to be on the Brazil card.

Silva and Cannonier’s battle from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio, moving it from it’s initial location of Curitiba, will also feature UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas defending her title against Brazilian challenger Jessica Andrade.
