Andrade Released From Star Boxing/Banner Promotions
After over ten years of working together with 2008 U.S. Olympian Demetrius Andrade, Star Boxing & Banner Promotions have announced they have released Andrade from his contract.
Andrade would win the WBO and WBA world super welterweight championship while working under the Star Boxing/Banner Promotions umbrella, the first 2008 U.S. Olympian to win a world title.
Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing commented “I wish Demetrius the very best. I’ve always believed that Demetrius has the potential to beat any junior middleweight or middleweight in the world and I expect he will be the World Champion again very soon.”
Arthur Pelullo of Banner Promotions also added “I believe Demetrius has the ability to beat any fighter in the world in his division, and I expect him to win many more World Titles in the near future. I wish him and his family the very best”.
Andrade added that, “It’s been a long journey. I’ve learned a lot and I really appreciate everything that Artie and Joe did for me and my career. Sometimes it seemed like it was us against the whole world trying to get the top fighters to get in the ring with me but at the end of the day Artie and Joe guided me to two World Championships and I really want to thank them for all their efforts! I’m hoping to be back in the ring again very soon and get an opportunity to show the world that I’m going to be a World Champion once again!
With Eddie Hearn’s announcement on Thursday of announcing massive signings on July 17th, Andrade may be interested in moving to Matchroom Boxing USA.
