Andre Berto-Miguel Cruz Set For August 3rd At Barclays

For the first time since fighting Devon Alexander last August on Long Island, Andre Berto returns to New York to face Miguel Cruz. Per Boxing Scene, The welterweights will fight inside the Barclays Center on August 3rd for Premier Boxing Champions.

Berto (32-5), a former WBC Welterweight Champion, is 2-2 in his last four fights. His two losses were against Floyd Mayweather (unanimous decision) and Shawn Porter (round-nine TKO). With 24 wins via knockout he will be looking to gain some momentum in Brooklyn.

Cruz (18-1) last fought in April, beating Luis Flores via TKO. It was a rebound win from his loss against Josesito Lopez a year before.

The fight will be one of three big bouts inside the Barclays in August. Marcus Browne will face off against Jean Pascal while Adam Kownacki will main event the card against Chris Arreola.
