Andre Ward Sparks Comeback Rumors With A Cryptic X Post
Andre Ward has gotten fans talking, with many believing he could come out of retirement following his post on X.
Warde retired in 2017 after becoming the Unified Light Heavyweight Champion. He beat Sergey Kovalev in back-to-back fights to retire undefeated with a 32-0 record. That success followed his feats at super middleweight, where he was the unified champion. He was induced into the Boxing International Hall of Fame in 2021.
His resume is littered with big-name wins, with victories against Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler, to name a few. After his retirement, Ward joined ESPN as a commentator. He left his role last year. He was recently spotted helping Terence Crawford for his upcoming fight against Israil Madrimov on August 3. Now, he has teased a return.Â

Any return is unlikely to be against the big names at 168. Ward is now 40, making a fight with Canelo Alvarez unlikely. A more realistic fight is against his former foe, Froch, in an exhibition. The same could be said for a GGG fight, as Golovkin is 42, following his last fight against Canelo in 2022. While there are still plenty of hurdles to navigate before a Ward return, it has gotten fans talking.Â
