Andy Ruiz Jr. Wants To Collaborate Again With Eddy Reynoso For Usyk Fight
Andy Ruiz Jr. is again back in the mix for a title shot after a dominant victory over Luiz Ortiz this Sunday evening at Crypto Arena, Los Angeles.
Before the fight, the former IBF, WBA & WBO champion Ruiz (34-2, 22 KOs) said that he wanted to get his belts back by fighting Usyk, and he feels that Reynoso, the coach for Canelo Alvarez, could help him.
“Of course, because like I said, he has a lot of experience, and I would love for him to help me out to try and get those titles back. I think Eddy [Reynoso] would be a good trainer,” said Ruiz Jr to Fight Hub TV.
Ruiz Jr. parted his ways with Reynoso as he established his own gym and training facility where he leathers the bag nowadays.
“I said, ‘I’m going to open my own gym, have my own team and my own facility. That’s exactly what I did. That’s why I did all the hard work and busted my a– off, and that’s exactly why we’re going to get this victory,” said Ruiz Jr.
Moreover, the talks of Ruiz Jr. fighting Usyk are just in the initial phases as the Ukrainian heavyweight has expressed his desire to fight the reigning WBC titlist, Tyson Fury for a Mega million-dollar fight.
At the moment, all of the top heavyweight contenders – Fury, Anthony Joshua, Wilder, Ruiz and Usyk – are somehow connected with rumored fights against one another.
