Andy Ruiz or Chris Arreloa? Dillian Whyte Yet To Confirm Next Opponent
Matchroom Sports CEO Eddie Hearn has affirmed that his fighter Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) will be seen in action against either Chris Arreola or Andy Ruiz.
“We quite like the Arreola fight. We spoke to [manager] Luis DeCubas Jr. and a few people,” Hearn said in a recent interview. “[Contender] Jermaine Franklin has been mentioned before. I think Dillian wants a real fight. That’s a fun fight. We were talking earlier about the Andy Ruiz fight. That’s such a great fight.”
Hearn clarified that the management is looking for a date in October since the boxer will fight once this year.

“Rather than try and fight once in September, let’s just get the right fight, a bigger fight, in and around October,” he said.
In his last fight, Whyte avenged his 2020 loss to Alexander Povetkin in a rematch this March. He stopped Povetkin in the fifth-round stoppage over in their rematch last March; Whyte was stopped by the Russian, who is now retired, in the first bout last August.
Speaking to IFL, Whyte had also expressed interest in fighting former American heavyweight champ Charles Martin.
“Jermaine Franklin, Chris Arreola, Andy Ruiz, Charles Martin, these are the kind of guys that I want to fight,” the 33-year-old said. “I want to fight the best guys, but sometimes it’s difficult to get the fights when the guys don’t want to fight.”
