Andy Ruiz To Joshua: “I’m The A-Side”

Just over a month and ten days as unified world heavyweight champion, Andy Ruiz is comfortable asserting himself as the top of the card for a rematch with Anthony Joshua.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, Ruiz Jr, who knocked down Anthony Joshua four times as a last minute replacement for Jarrell Miller on June 1st, has a few ideas of where he would want the rematch to take place, and one where he refuses to go, the United Kingdom.

“I want to the rematch to be in Mexico or New York City again, Las Vegas or here at the Staples Center,” Ruiz said.

“It doesn’t matter [if Joshua doesn’t agree] because I’m the champion, I call the shots. We’re the A-Side now.”

“I haven’t talked to him,” Ruiz said of speaking to the former champion following his upset victory on June 1st.  “But I’m pretty sure he’s training hard for the rematch. And so am I.”
