Anthony Joshua Pictured For First Time Since Losing To Oleksandr Usyk

The former unified world heavyweight champion seems to be trying to move on from his emotional defeat last Saturday against Oleksandr Usyl.

The British boxer, who was defeated by Usyk for the second time in Saudi Arabia, was spotted playing chess with his friend JC Elite in an Instagram post. JC Elite shared this picture from Jeddah.

The Instagram post had the caption “Rest, recover, regroup we move and go again,”, which means that Joshua could be on the move very soon.

The 32-year-old was beaten by Usyk via a split decision in Saudi Arabia. This was his second defeat to the Ukrainian boxer after finishing second-best to him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September.

After the way Joshua reacted after this defeat, many people felt that the two-time unified world heavyweight champion could throw in the towel. Joshua became emotional in the post-match press conference and burst into tears.

The defeat against Usyk was the first time in his professional career that the British boxer has endured consecutive defeats.

Moreover, the defeat last Saturday was his third in five professional fights, which brought questions about whether Joshua should take a hiatus from boxing. Apart from the defeats against Usyk, the 32-year-old had also lost to Andy Ruiz Jr., which was quickly avenged by him a year later.
