Anthony Joshua Thanks Floyd Mayweather For Helping With Training
Anthony Joshua’s Instagram story sent social media into frenzy when boxing fans spotted Floyd “Money” Mayweather keeping an eye on the British heavyweight star.
The retired 50-0 legend could be seen watching Joshua during a training session. The heavyweight was all praise for Mayweather, who apparently helped him during the session as he prepares to avenge his loss to Oleksandr Usyk this year.
In the September fight held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before his home crowd, Joshua lost his WBA, WBO and IBF world titles to Usyk via unanimous decision.
While experts termed Usyk’s win an upset, Mayweather had a different perspective about it.
“Usyk was a hell of a fighter, a gold medalist if I’m not mistaken but he was behind the scenes,” the former unbeaten world champ said.
“Two guys with crazy amateur backgrounds and one guy is not being seen and another guy is being seen, then we call it an upset.
“No, it’s just that he was working behind the scenes and another guy was working in front of everybody. Finally, they had to meet up and Anthony Joshua came up short.”
