Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk to include rematch clause

Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk will have a rematch clause in their contract. This means that boxing fans will get to see two super fights between both juggernauts of the sport. This benefits former cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, who will have the opportunity to have the biggest payday of his career. But this is possible if Usyk overwhelms AJ in the first showdown.

Andy Ruiz Jr. had a similar path to glory in 2019. The Mexican starlet first upset the odds to hand the Brit heavyweight first loss of his professional career, then he gave Joshua his rematch the same year to make the most amount of money he has ever made.

The Usyk match-up is, however, a step down for Joshua since he was eyeing a title fight against WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury. The talks never progressed to the signing of contracts as the WBO ordered Joshua to take on the undefeated Ukrainian boxer instead.

On the flip side, Fury has been ordered to fight Deontay Wilder for the third time after an independent arbitrator in the United Kingdom approved Wilder’s plea for the rematch.
