Anthony Pettis And Roy Jones Jr Pocked $1.35 Million For Their ‘Dull’ Fight

The Gamebred Boxing 4 event featuring a fight between Anthony Pettis and Roy Jones Jr. generated nearly $3 million in total pay for the fighters.

There had been a mixed reaction to the main event, as the 54-year-old Jones was taking on an MMA star in boxing, with victory for either not doing much to enhance their reputation.

Despite Pettis walking away victorious, in truth, it was an aging Jones who was never going to perform like the days of old, during his heyday, since father time had caught up with him.

And yet, for all the criticism that may have emerged, the event did do some serious numbers. Out of the 26 fighters who participated in the event, six of them received paydays in the six-figure range.

The majority of the fighters, 20 in total, were on a fixed rate, while the remaining six were on a contract based on their performance.

The two main fighters, Pettis and Jones Jr, were paid the highest amount of money, which added up to $1,350,000 as the total payout for the event was $2,827,700.

The event may not have left much to be desired, but the fighters certainly got their financial worth looked after, which will only increase the enthusiasm for further bouts of a similar manner.
