Antonio Tarver Reacts To “I Play Rocky” Trailer
Antonio Tarver has shared his reaction to the trailer for the upcoming biographical drama I Play Rocky, which chronicles Sylvester Stallone’s struggle to write and secure the starring role in the original 1976 film Rocky.
Tarver has his own connection to the franchise, having starred opposite Stallone as heavyweight champion Mason “The Line” Dixon in the 2006 film Rocky Balboa.
Tarver said his relationship with Stallone began approximately a decade before he was cast in the film. The former boxing champion first met Stallone following the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta before later being selected to play Rocky Balboa’s final opponent in the 2006 movie.
Tarver praised Anthony Ippolito’s portrayal of a young Stallone and expressed excitement about the film’s depiction of Stallone’s real-life battle to get Rocky made while insisting that he play the lead role.
