Ariel Helwani Hints At Possible UFC 300 Return For Conor McGregor

Ariel Helwani has hinted that Conor McGregor could still fight at UFC 300.

The Irishman recently entered the USADA testing pool after having been out injured with a broken leg following his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The USADA rules require that fighters must provide two negative samples over a six-month period before they can compete. That would put McGregor in line to return in April, the same time as UFC 300. And yet, Dana White recently confirmed that the Irishman would most likely return in the summer. Those words were backed up by McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh. However, the ‘Notorious’ has still expressed his desire to fight at UFC 300, which could pan out given Helwani’s following comments.

“I’ve heard since that maybe plans are changing,” Helwani

Nevertheless, Helawi did stress that McGregor may be put on another event due to the fact that UFC 300 will likely sell itself. The event will be a historic moment, which is why many names, such as Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar had been linked with making a return before White ruled them out. But since White has dismissed those names, Helwani felt the card would be better with McGregor on it.

“But to me, come on man. Conor’s ready to go, who knows how many fights he has left in him, he’s foaming at the mouth, he’s almost begging for a fight. Put him on that damn card,” Helwani
