Artur Beterbiev And Callum Smith Stay Silent During Cagey Weigh-In

Artur Beterbiev and Callum Smith both made weight ahead of their light heavyweight fight on Saturday.

Beterbiev puts his WBC, WBO and IBF belts on the line for the second time in his career. He has 19 knockouts, making him one of boxing’s biggest punchers to date, alongside Vergil Ortiz, who also has a 100 percent KO rate. Beterbiev must put aside the background noise surrounding his ‘atypical’ VADA tests to secure the undisputed fight with Dimitry Bivol, who has signed the contract.

Smith knows a win makes him a two-weight world champion following his accomplishments at 168. Since his defeat to Canelo Alvarez, Smith has won two on the bounce. After feeling more comfortable at 175, he is one step away from causing a major upset. Smith weighed 174.6 pounds while Beterbiev hit the scales at 175 pounds. Both fighters stayed silent during a brief face-off.
