Artur Beterbiev Looking Forward To Joe Smith Fight

It seems like Artur Beterbiev (17-0, 17 KOs) isn’t intimidated by what Joe Smith can bring to the table.

The current WBC champion is going to meet the WBO holder at the Madison Square Garden on Saturday, June 18.

“I don’t take any fight for granted. Every fight feels like a window of opportunity to me,” Beterbiev stated in an interview.

“Joe Smith is a great fighter. He has done well so far in his professional career. Most importantly, he has a good record against good professionals. However, we will see what happens on June 18,” Beterbiev explained.

There are many fighters currently in action, and boxing fans are yet to determine who takes the edge in mythical pound-by-pound rankings. Even though Beterbiev is in the conversation, the 37-year-old isn’t obsessed about it and is only committed to his performance inside the ring.

“I am interested in this conversation [pound-by-pound lists] but I’m not obsessed about it. If one day, they put me high in the ranking, it will happen as a consequence of my hard work.”
