It wasn’t an easy match for the Russian, but he was in the ascendancy throughout the match and looked better than ever. He gave his opponent plenty to think about his movement and anticipation.
Beterbiev was in control throughout the match as he set up an undisputed championship bout in 2023 with Dmitry Bivol. There is no confirmation about this fight, but it is a possibility with Beterbiev retaining his titles again.
“Every fight is different. If I did it again, I would want to do better,” Beterbiev’s immediate reaction.
“Everyone in this category can punch hard. Anthony did too. He’s young, and he has time. I hope he does well in the future.
“To be honest, every punch we prepared for. That’s why I came back. We expect that, that’s why I won.”
