Artur Beterbiev Vs Joe Smith Jr. Scheduled On June 18

There has been massive development in the world of boxing as Artur Beterbiev (17-0, 17 KOs) and Joe Smith Jr. (28-3, 22 KOs) are set to lock horns on June 18.

ESPN Boxing reporter Mike Coppinger said that the duo has agreed to terms for a light heavyweight unification battle.

Only either Beterbiev or Smith Jr. will hold three of the four major titles at 175 pounds. There are rumors that the Madison Square Garden is likely to be the destination for this battle.

You won’t find an athlete who is enjoying his time more in the ring than Smith Jr.

After a disappointing defeat against Dmitry Bivol in 2019, the American has won four consecutive bouts. The winner of this battle is likely to face Canelo Alvarez, who would have the chance to become the undisputed champion.

For now, the 31-year-old Alvarez will challenge Bivol for the WBA light heavyweight title on May 7.

If he is successful in the unification battle against Ryota Murata on April 9, he will go toe-to-toe against Gennadiy Golovkin on September 17.
