Arum To Give Haney Shot At Taylor/Lopez Winner If Haney Stays With Top Rank
Devin Haney could end up staying with Top Rank following his fight with Vasiliy Lomachenko on May 20th, 2023.
The American had signed a three-fight deal in order to pursue his undisputed-title ambitions, which culminated in back-to-back fights against George Kambosos Jr.
Victory in both fights allowed Haney to become undisputed and then defend his titles. And the latter is what he will be doing when he faces Lomachenko.
Will we enter Haney’s dreams or Loma’s Matrix?

The fight has generated a lot of buzz due to the expectation that Lomachenko will be Haney’s biggest test. After all, he is a three-division champion looking to become undisputed himself.
If Haney were to stay with Top Rank, then big fights against Shakur Stevenson or even Teofimo Lopez at 140 lbs could materialize.
Lopez, for his part, is currently facing former undisputed, junior-welterweight champion, Josh Taylor on June 10th, 2023. And the winner of that bout could face Haney, as per Bob Arum.
“If Haney wins or loses, he’s going to go up to 140 pounds, and we have the winner of Josh Taylor – Teofimo [Lopez], so I think that’s somewhat attractive to him,” Arum
Regardless of how things pan out, Haney has been pleased with Top Rank.
“I like what Top Rank has done in their promotion, and everything that they’ve put into it has had a big buzz around it, and then we’ll see. After I’m victorious, I can tell you more about it, but I’m happy with how Top Rank has been handling things,” Haney
