Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson was born in Arboga, Sweden on January 15th, in 1987. He stands in at 6’ 5” and is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu who competes in the light heavyweight division for the UFC. Gustafsson has been a top contender in the light heavyweight division for the past few years.
In 2013 he fought then champion Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight championship but came up just short in a great battle that could have gone either way as Jones was awarded the 5 round unanimous decision victory.
In January of 2015 Gustafsson lost a title eliminator bout to Anthony “Rumble” Johnson but has the chance to win the title on October 3rd when he faces current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier for the title.
