Interested in boxing and MMA from a young age, Alexis Davis began training martial arts at 16 years old, adding Brazilian jiu-jitsu and jujutsu to her repertoire at 18.
Davis made her professional MMA debut in April 2007, losing to Sarah Kaufman. She then won nine of her next 12 bouts, including two bouts with Tonya Evinger, before joining Strikeforce. After three bouts in Strikeforce and two in Invicta FC, Davis was signed to the UFC.
Davis won her UFC debut at UFC 161 in June 2013, defeating Rosi Sexton. Davis received a shot at Ronda Rousey and the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship at UFC 175 in July 2014, but came up short.
Davis holds victories over the likes of Kaufman, Evinger, Jessica Eye and Amanda Nunes.
