Bio
Anthony “Showtime” Pettis was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the USA on January 27th in 1987. Pettis is an accomplished mixed martial artist who holds a 3rd degree Dan black belt in Taekwondo, a Brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and a Yellow Rope in Capoeira. Pettis began his MMA career 9-0 with just one fight going the distance before losing a split decision in 2009.
In 2010 Pettis won the WEC lightweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Benson Henderson. While winning the title was a big accomplishment that fight was best remembered for the amazing “Showtime Kick” off the cage that Pettis landed on Henderson.
Pettis won the UFC lightweight title with a 1st round submission win over Henderson and made one title defense before losing the belt to Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision at UFC 185. Pettis is expected to return to the Octagon at the beginning of 2016.
