Bio
Eddie “The Silent Assassin” Alvarez was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the U.S. on January 11th in 1984. After wrestling in high school Alvarez turned pro at the age of 19. He fought for many different promotions and won multiple titles as a welterweight and lightweight but made his name as the Bellator lightweight champion.
While fighting for Bellator from 2009-2013 Alvarez was widely considered the best lightweight in the world but couldn’t prove it because the feeling was all the best fighters were in the UFC. After a long drawn out legal battle with Bellator, Alvarez was granted his release and was allowed to sign with the UFC for a chance to prove he was the best lightweight in the world.
